Algorithmic Decision-making

Multiple arrow paths for decision-making

Companies and governments the world over are adopting algorithmic and automated decision-making at an alarming rate. Governments around the world are introducing regulatory mechanisms to dampen the negative impacts of these useful tools. Establishing a regulatory landscape is necessary to prevent perpetuating or introducing biases in these processes. Yet, these are active and secondary.

The alternative is to make algorithms inherently trustworthy through their design and implementation. My research looks at how to design and implement algorithms to achieve fair decision-making practise.
